My Photo
Name: Michael Curtis

Despite having never been a professional adventurer, Michael Curtis has nonetheless deciphered cryptic writings, handled ancient maps and texts, ridden both a camel and an elephant, fallen off a mountain, participated in a mystical rite, and discovered the resting places of lost treasures. Pax Fixtus

I've just corrected an oversight on my "Favorites" list. The one to your left. Vanadorn has been writing the ongoing saga of "Pax Romana" as alternative history for *wow* three years. I had him linked, but it was, well, just wrong. That's been fixed.

In light of "300" doing 70 million domestic, I encourage you to see how things COULD have been.

Lovecraftian Hi-Jinks

True story:

As a founding member of the "Crispell Hall Society of Arts and Literature" (half of the visitors here were members. We'd drink a lot and talk), I remember having this discussion at one point.

"So what would we do if there was SOMETHING trying to burst its way into our dimension?"

"Well, I suppose we could grab Father Damien and have him wave a crucifix at it."

"We could get Rabbi Strongin as a back-up."

"But what if it wasn't repelled by religion and we needed...like a sorcerer of something?"

"I don't know...Let's check the Yellow Pages and see if we could find one."

A quick glimpse in the Ulster County Yellow Pages showed that between us and the Elder Gods lay..."Illusions and Magic by Stan."

This entry is brought to you by "The Dresden Files" and the back of my mental record collection.
